Floating
Gently floating down
Floating down
Down to the ground
The leaves are falling
Falling down
Falling gently to the ground
As days change
The air’s a chill
Too cool to enjoy
The morning thrill
Of coffee, of chat
Of patio flowers
Of outdoor prayer
The leaves are falling
The petals did fade
The roses, petunias begonias are gone
The tiny garden of beauty we made
Floating
Gently blowing away
Blowing, blowing, blowing
Autumn’s on the move
Cooling down
Getting colder
Winter’s icy breath
Is on the way
Frost
It’s getting frosty
Soon icy snow
Replaces life and green
But now
The dancing fingers
Of frosty patterns
Displace
The once clears pictures
Through my windowpane
Floating
Gently floating down
Floating down
Down to the ground
The snowflakes fall
A blanket to make
A blanket to make of white
And it too will change
Uglier before the warmth
Muddier before the grey turn
Before the grey turns green
Before the buds burst
Before roses bloom
Petals of red and pink and purple
Dance again
In a warm breeze
On a warm spring day
